CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner~A Powerful Cleaner That's Safer

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CLR for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
 photo Jelmar|WeCleanMoreThanYouThink-Home_zpsc4d6b490.jpg
If there’s one chore I absolutely, totally hate, it’s cleaning bathrooms! I always have!  HATED! If we ever won lotto the first thing I'd do is hire someone just to clean them! That would be their only job, clean the bathrooms.
What I find so frustrating is, no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get them clean! I've tried every cleaning product, short of fire, known to man, but nothing seems to cut through the soap scum and general grime.
I recently read about a product for cleaning bathrooms and kitchens that I'm going to try. It’s called CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner, and it’s known for being…

- Fast acting and powerful
- Cleans quickly and effectively
- Makes short work of stubborn dirt, calcium, lime, hard water stains and soap scum
- Has the Environmental Protection Agency’s “DfE” (“Design for the Environment” designation, meaning its safer chemistry is not harmful to everyone in your home)

This sounds like my kind of product, not only because it’s safer, but because it sounds like it really works at getting our bathrooms cleaner! Needless to say, that would make me very happy! And I like that it can be used in so many areas, such as on ceramic tile, toilets, shower doors, bathtubs, sinks, shower heads and doors, and white grout and caulk. That means I won’t need separate cleaners for each of these areas of the bathrooms.
I'm thinking that CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner is a great choice not only for bathrooms, but as you can tell by it's name, it's gotta be a great cleaner for the kitchen too! Two-fer!!
I also found out that you can pick it up at almost anywhere you purchase your other household cleaners!
Learn more about CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner on their website, and be sure to follow them on Twitter, too, at @clrcleaners.

St. Patrick's Day Wreath

We are in the middle of a late winter blizzard.
Judging by the snow on the patio chair
I'd say we have about 7-8 inches so far
with more to come this afternoon into the evening.
I don't think we'll be sitting out there any time soon!

Luckily, we had no plans to be out and about so, today was the perfect day to get my craft on!

Valentine's Day has been packed away for this year
and with only a few weeks until St. Patrick's Day
I decided to create a simple wreath to put on the front door.

I received the grapevine wreath for free from Ms K when she moved a few months ago.
The welcome shamrock is from the Dollar Tree as are all of the other embellishments.
I don't think I've ever said something had to much glitter!
Even the green tipped carnations are sprinkled with glitter.
Of course, I'll have to wait until the snow stops and I can get out before I can add it to the front door to great guests.
Until then, I'll keep it up on the wall in the hallway to welcome us up the stairs each day!

And, since it's still snowing and my glue gun is still locked and loaded,
I'll just have to find something else to craft!

Let It Snow~Snowman Table

Yes, I did work in the yard some this weekend.
Yes, it was in the 60's.
And yes, it is now cold.
Yes, it is still winter here so, I decided to set,
what I hope to be, my final tablescape for this season.

I had purchased this set of 4 snowman plates at Goodwill several years ago.
I paid 49 cents each for them at the time.
Each one has a different snowman scene on them.
Then, on a different shopping trip to Goodwill I found the matching mugs!
Also on sale for 49 cents each!
What I especially love about them is that they all have red cardinals on them.
My favorite bird even though we don't see them here.
I chose a red charger to compliment the sweet birds.
The napkins were another thrift store find at $1.50 for four of them.
Small rectangular blue baking dishes from Michael's at each setting
hold the makings for hot cocoa to keep us warm.
The centerpiece is a gathering of my favorite snowmen and women that I saved out
when we packed Christmas away.
My mother-in-law loves snowmen.  She says they are always happy.

Look how happy they look sitting on those rounds of ice!
Snowflake votives from Yankee candle must be helping to keep them warm.
Or, maybe it's the snowflake tapers set high in crystal holders?
I wonder if they will be as happy as I will be to see Spring arrive?
I know the warm sun will melt them away but, I know too
that summer will pass too quickly and
the snowmen will once again make an appearance on my lawn
and on my table.

I always share my tables with

World Market Grand Re-Opening Celebration!

You all have seen my dining table featured in many of my posts.
You know that I dearly love it.

It is the perfect blank canvas for all of my tablescapes.

I had searched high and low for months for the table I had dreamed of.
I finally found THE ONE at World Market at Cherry Creek here in Denver.
It is part of the Verona series.
World Market is true to their mantra, Unique, authentic, and always affordable!

Of course, being me, I didn't buy it right away.  I waited.
I went back many times to see it and touch it lovingly.
Finally Mr. B had had enough and told me to just,
for the love of God, go get it.
So, I did LOL.

2 years later, I could not be happier with my decision! It is so beautifully made.
It's solid wood and durable.
The finish has just the right amount of distressing without being too rustic.
The stain is the just best color for the room, which I wanted to have a slight Tuscan feel.

Of course I have been back to World Market many times!
I have made many many purchases there from table to home décor as well as gifts.
I love the selection of furniture from the dining room, to the living room.
At some point we hope to replace our sofa and I know I will be
checking out the sofa selection at World Market.

Recently I found out that they are closing the location at Cherry Creek!!
Gasp!  NOOOO! I love that store!!
But then I found out they are
RE-OPENING a brand spanking, BIGGER location not far away from the old location!

Hurrah!
I then learned that they are having a Preview Party on February 27, 2013!
And, I scored an invite! Squee!!!!!
I get to check out the shiny new store and come back and share it all with you!

Plus, there are all kinds of events planned for the Grand Opening Week & Weekend:

Thursday 2/28/2013-There will be a special ribbon cutting ceremony at the new store at 770 S. Colorado Blvd starting at 9 AM.

You're Gonna Love It - Week 42

Good evening dear friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Thank you all for your sweet birthday wishes.
I can honestly say it was a terrific birthday!

Mr. B is so good at spoiling me rotten that I have to be careful what I ask for because...
well he'll get it for me.
Case in point, I've have been wanting a Silhouette Cameo die cut machine FOREVER and, yes, that was all wrapped up and presented to me Friday morning.
Silhouette Cameo
I haven't had the chance to play with it much yet because my laptop was so old that we couldn't install the software.
That meant we then had to go get me a new laptop.
Which means I am know having to learn Windows 8.
Not easy for a now older lady I'm telling ya!
But, I know enough to be able to write this post with it LOL.

Even though my birthday festivities are all done for another year I'm still
in a partyin' mood so let's get this weeks party started!

The most viewed link last week came from Robin who blogs over at
Fluster Buster
Robin shared a fun list of great uses for Vicks VapoRub.
I've been using Vicks on my concrete heels for years but
I didn't know about the other ailments it could help with.
Thanks for sharing Robin!  Grad yourself an I've Been Featured button
and display it proudly!

Fast & Easy End Table Re-Do

Mr. B has a little table that sits on his end of the sofa.
It has truly seen better days.
The finish is scratched up and frankly, I was getting tired of looking at it.

The bad part is, it fits perfectly there!
It is just the right size to not intrude into the walkway from the family room into the breakfast space and kitchen.

I had hunted for a new nicer table to sit there but had no luck and, believe me,
I looked EVERYWHERE for one.

What's a girl to do?
Well, the first thing this crafty gal did is, she busted out her new sander she got for Christmas and smoothed out the offending top surface.

After I got done sanding I thought about staining the top but then I decided to veer and go a whole different route.

Out came the Modge Podge and some scrapbook paper.
It only took 2 pieces of paper that I bought on sale for 6 for $1.00 at Michael's awhile back.
After the Modge Podge dried I used an Exacto knife and carefully trimmed around the scallop design on the table. I then put on two coats of polyurethane, drying between each coat.

A few hours later she was put back next to Mr. B.
Not only do I love her new look, so does Mr. B!
He can now safely set a glass of tea or his iPad on his "new" table and not get a splinter! He was even pleased with the paper I chose. He said it really fits his style!
Kathe 1 Table 0.

So I ask you, rhetorically, who needs to buy new when you have a crafty gal in the house??

Valentine's Day Table For Two

Valentine's Day holds a sweet memory for me that I've never shared with you.
9 years ago this Valentine's Day the sweet Mr. B proposed to me!
He had carried the ring in his pocket for months,
waiting for the perfect moment to pop the question.

I did not make it easy for him. There were several moments when he felt he could do it and, well, I'd unknowingly screw it up somehow.

But the evening of February 14th 2004 proved the ideal time.
He had recently started building a lounge area in our basement.
We would go down there on Friday nights, indulge in a few adult beverages
and unwind from the work week.
We'd talk about our plans for our new to us home.
Frank, Dean and Sammy would be crooning in the background.
I loved this time we spent together.

Somehow the conversation wound around to our relationship.
What we loved about each other and why we were so good together.
With me barely noticing, the music changed to one of my favorite songs,
Josh Groban singing You Raise Me Up.
The lyrics always make me think of how I feel about Mr. B.
He always thinks I am better than I think of myself.

Anywho, Mr. B began telling me why and when he knew he loved me.
He was going to the hardware store or somewhere
and I was probably going to some thrift store.
He realized he didn't have to wonder where or what I was really doing
when we were apart (trust issues with previous relationships).
Again, barely noticing, he got up and went behind the bar as he talked.
I was already on the brink of tears with his words when
he turned around with a ring box in his hand!

As he dropped to one knee, I was shaking and crying.
The words he said were along the lines of
"And at that moment I realized that I didn't want us to ever be apart. Will you be my wife?"
I was a total mess! I was bawling and just fell into his arms.
To this day I am not sure if I ever said yes.
But yes, I did want to be his wife.
Yes I wanted to spend the rest of my life with the only man that could put up with me and my crazy ideas, my sense of humor, my moods.
I wanted nothing more than to be the wife of my last love.

So, to celebrate such a special day, I set a simple Valentine's Day table for just us two.
Valentine Tablescape~Kathe With An E
I went for just red and white. White for the pureness of our love and red for passion.
Valentine Tablescape~Kathe With An E
Simple dishes set up on a red checked runner (aka a plastic tablecloth folded into a runner).
Valentine Tablescape~Kathe With An E
The everyday Gibson dinner dishes were actually the very first dish set we bought when we moved in together.
Valentine Tablescape~Kathe With An E
The centerpiece is set to one end so that we can talk across the table with no interference. Flowers candy and wine set between two candles speak softly of love and romance.
Valentine Tablescape~Kathe With An E
An Irish crystal wine goblet lends some elegance while the red water glass conveys my quirky side. One of the reasons Mr. B loves me.  He never knows what "fun" idea I'll spring on him next.
Valentine Tablescape~Kathe With An E
Happy Anniversary of our engagement and Happy Valentine's Day Mr. B!
I love you more and more with all of my heart each and everyday!

You Raise Me Up
Music by Rolf Løvland, lyrics by Brendan Graham

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.
