You're Gonna Love It Link Party

Welcome back to another fun week of sharing your links as well as visiting other links for inspiration! Thank you for all of the get well wishes.  This upper respiratory crud has really hit us hard!  Going into week two and we are all still hacking away. Luckily, we had a snowstorm over the weekend so, we had the perfect excuse to just plant our behinds on the couches and sleep when we needed. I would say that I am at about 90% of my usual perky self. Here's hoping that continues to rise as the week progresses. Congested or not, I still wanna party so, let's get this one started!

It's Time For
The Features of the Week
We had a tie for most viewed last week!  First up, Suzy showed us some pretty cool art using beans!
I am totally going to give this a try to make some art for my craft room!

Next, Heather worked some incredible magic to bring this vintage chair back to life.
Swoon worthy I'm telling you!!

My pick of the week comes via Patricia.  Patricia formerly hailed from New York but, now lives in Colorado!  We hope to meet up soon one of these days! Anywho, Patricia took us on a tour of the Morgan Library & Museum.
After seeing the photos, I so want to go here!  I could leave Mr. B in the library while I wander through the museum.  Win-win!

If you have been featured here, or over at my crazy talented co-hort Kim's blog, (she has a different Pick of the Week so go check it out...was it you?) make sure to grab an I've Been Featured button here.

Just a reminder: IF you follow me on Facebook you get first notice of this party going live each week.  Plus, I share some pretty funny and awesome stuff on my page too!

Now, are you ready to party??

An Oscar-Worthy After Party

This post is sponsored by World Market. All opinions are 100% my own.

I love awards season!  Always have!  As a young girl, I would pretend I was a contender and practice my acceptance speech. I'd be sure to thank all of the little people that got me to where I am today.  Of course, I couldn't forget to thank my handsome husband, David Cassidy, for all of his undying love and support!

In honor of the last big awards show, The Oscars, I decided to set a table befitting all of the big stars for an after party at my house!

My first stop was World Market of course. The have all of the entertaining essentials needed for an award winning party!
I started with my favorite black tablecloth and then added a gold square charger. Next came a solid black dinner plate and a white, gold and black salad plate.
The design on the salad plate looks like O's, for Oscar! My vintage gold plated flatware was the perfect choice for this star studded fete!
Of course, there really are no losers on awards night at my party so, I made sure each setting had it's own statue to remind them that they are all winners!
I have been eyeing this mirrored serving tray at World Market forever and it finally found it's way home with me!
It's the perfect piece to hold champagne glasses, an ice bucket and some sparkling wine

Some bright red flowers from the mark down section at my grocery store add the perfect amount of color.
I think these pillar candle holders bring the right amount of elegance to the table.
Each guest also received a gift bag, full of high end goodies and lots of sparkle.
A fun table full of glitz and glamour for my special guests to unwind after the ceremonies are over!
If you love movies like I do, Cost Plus World Market invites you to celebrate the movie awards season and enter Cost Plus World Market’s Movie Lovers Sweepstakes for a chance to win FREE MOVIES FOR A YEAR and a $1,000 World Market Gift Card! The Sweepstakes ends 2/21/15, so be sure to hurry and enter at www.worldmarketsweepstakes.com

You're Gonna Love It~The Short & Sweet Version

Yes, I am keeping it short and sweet this week my friends.  I have been sick since last week and now, so are Mr. B & his mother. The party will still go on but I won't be my usually talky self.  Hey, maybe that's a good thing??

It's Time For
The Features of the Week
It appears we have a repeat winner for most viewed!
Cooking With Carlee once again won your hearts with her Two Ingredient Pink Fudge Recipe. Perfect for any holiday really!
This Simple White Chicken Chili Recipe from Sherri at Luv A Bargain was my pick of the week! Full of flavor and easy enough to throw together if you aren't feeling well!

Cooking With Carlee brought by her recipe for Macarons with Raspberry Buttercream
Oh don't they look divine!  I could seriously much down a dozen of them!

My favorite pick of the week is this lovely cardinal Valentine's Day wreath from Lovely Livings.

I was smitten by the bright red cardinals and then, fell in love all over again with the checked bow!

Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples With Marie Callender's Pot Pie

This Marie Callender’s pot pies shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WarmthInACrust #CollectiveBias
Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples With Marie Callender's Pot Pie
I am all about comfort food.  I grew up at the time when frozen meals were just hitting the freezer section at the local grocery store. Yes, I'm old...Anywho, during the winter months, nothing warms my heart and takes me back to my youth like a freshly baked pot pie from the freezer.  I'm all about a good flaky crust and that is why I love Marie Callender's Pot Pies the best! They are packed full of veggies and and the gravy is so yummy!  Yep, they are ten times...no a hundred times better than the pot pies I grew up on.
I decided to grab a family size Marie Callender's pot pie the other day when I was shopping at Walmart. The pot pies can be found in the freezer section right by the other Marie Callender's meals I figured that was easier to get a family size than trying to decide what flavors Mr. B & his mother might want. They got what I wanted LOL! I also grabbed some apples so that I could make my skillet brown sugar & cinnamon apples to go along as a side dish.
Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples With Marie Callender's Pot Pie
Baking the pot pie is as simple as preheating your oven, making sure to poke some holes in the top crust and placing on a baking sheet in the oven for 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Marie Callender's Pot Pie
While the pot pie is baking I made up the skillet brown sugar & cinnamon apples.
Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples
I peeled, cored and cut up 6 good sized apples. I then melted the butter in a heavy skillet, added the apples and then the cinnamon, brown sugar and some freshly grated nutmeg.
Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples
Then just cook until the apples are tender.

By this time, the pot pie is done and it's time for dinner!
Marie Callender's Pot Pie
Just look at that gravy just oozing out! Oh to the yum!
Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples With Marie Callender's Pot Pie
Tender vegetables, all white-meat chicken and gravy, all packed under a perfectly flaky and golden crust that's made from scratch!
Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples With Marie Callender's Pot Pie
Convenient, fast and the truest sense of homemade, enough to fool anyone! Now that's my idea of comfort food! What's yours?

You can visit Marie Callender’s to learn more about the product and then visit their website for more great recipes. You can also find Marie Callender’s on Facebook at Marie Callender’s Meals.

Skillet Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Apples

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:
Melt butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Saute apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg until the apples are tender and golden, 15-20 minutes. Serve warm.

An Afternoon Tea Party

An Afternoon Tea Party Centerpiece
Not long ago my mother-in-law and I went to a big furniture store just to browse around.  I love this place because, not only do they have sofas, chairs, tables, etc., they also have decor pieces.  When I saw this vintage repro tea crate, I knew I had to get it and to stage it as an afternoon tea party centerpiece for the dining table.
An Afternoon Tea Party Centerpiece
I started with a vintage lacy trimmed doily from Mr. B's grandmother.
An Afternoon Tea Party Centerpiece with Vintage Hazel Atlas Luncheon Plates and Cups
I have been wanting to use my collection of Hazel Atlas luncheon plates and cups forever and this seemed to be the perfect vignette for them to be out on display.

The crystal clear beads on the plates fool many into thinking they are from the Candlewick collection.

Even the cups fool many with the beaded handles.

My new to me silver tea pot is perfectly at home in this setting.

No afternoon tea is complete without some finger sandwiches.

Little tastes of egg salad and cucumber sandwiches with ripe red strawberries for pops of color.
An Afternoon Tea Party Centerpiece
I received this beautiful red canning jar from a dear blogging friend some time ago and it was such a pretty addition to my centerpiece. Especially filled with marked down flowers from the grocery store!

Why they were marked down I don't know!  Look how sweet they are!

They make me long for Spring!
