A Red & Gold Poinsettia Christmas Tablescape

Well hello there!  I'll bet you thought I fell off the face of the earth!  Nope, all is well. I am settling in at my new job and am finding time to start posting here again!

Life has been so hectic I didn't even set a Thanksgiving tablescape this year.  It was just Mr. B and me so, it worked out fine. But, I really wanted to set a festive Christmas Tablescape and in spite of being out of practice, I think I did alright.

Poinsettias purchased on Black Friday at Home Depot were just one of my inspirations for the table.

I had hoped to get pink or white ones but they were already gone by the time I got there but I think someone was watching out for me because the red ones are still so beautiful and vibrant!

I used my gold mirrored tray from World Market and set up a pretty centerpiece with the poinsettias, antlers, some greenery, pinecones and battery tealights.

I am so thankful my buddy Christine from Rustic & Refined sent me the antlers last year!  I just loved using them on a tablescape them again!

I used my standby red candlesticks on each side of the centerpiece. I found the red battery operated candles at IKEA a few weeks ago and I am in love with them!!

Another inspiration for the table were the plaid chargers I snatched up at Michael's on a recent daily deal!

Topped with a thrift store vintage Johnson Bros dinner plate and a holly themed salad plate from the Corelle outlet they are the perfect compliment to the holiday setting. I also mimicked the gold from the centerpiece by using my vintage gold plated flatware.

In keeping with the theme, I placed a poinsettia ornament in a trifle bowl at each setting.

I purchased the poinsettia napkin rings about a decade ago on clearance at Pier 1.  They still had the price tag on them when I pulled them out to use on this table.  I paid $2.98 each. The green napkins almost perfectly match the green in the chargers.

And since I like a little whimsy on my tables, I added this pair of nutcracker salt & pepper shakers to the table. They do make me smile!

So for being a little at rusty setting a festive table, I think I did a fine job!

  9. Kathe, your table looks awesome. I scored some of those chargers from Michael's too, for yet another look. They are so versatile. Those poinsettia ornaments are gorgeous (vintage?)! And your Nutcracker S&P - so cute! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
