Spring Tablescape

In keeping with my goal of bringing the season inside, I set a Spring tablescape last weekend.
Kathe With An E- Spring-Tablescape
I started with a pale yellow tablecloth I have had for years. If you look closely, you will see it is embossed with flowers and butterflies. Perfect with the dishes I bought some time ago at a thrift store for 25 cents each.

Each of the four salad plates is decorated with different flowers and butterflies.

Each place setting has a frilly charger found at Michael's a few weeks ago, green dinner plate from the Dollar Tree with a matching coffee mug, and new flatware from Bed Bath & Beyond that Mr. B, aka, The Enabler, told me I had to buy them because the set was so pretty and I kept going back to it.

The green butterfly bowls were purchased a few years ago from Michael's. I last used them on a table 2 years ago. You can see that table here.

I wanted something different for the napkins and the butterfly napkin rings and found this wonderful bag napkin fold tutorial here

Very easy and so fun!  I could see using it on an Easter table, filled with jelly beans or a chocolate bunny! The butterfly looks like it is just emerging from it's cocoon, doesn't it?

On one of my trips to Michael's I was so happy to find the new limited edition Spring Green Ball jars!

So perfect for a table set in Spring colors!  Filled with a few bright yellow daffodils and there is my centerpiece!

A couple of white birds and the table is set.

Though it seems Spring is late in arriving this year, by changing up my decor, I hope it comes soon and finds a place at my Spring tablescape!

  5. That is a great napkin fold, Kathe!!! You could take that to the edge and back!!! Neat!

You got those dishes for 25 cents apiece?!??!!! What a great buy! And perfect for Spring and Summer!!!

I bought those same chargers at Michael's. Problem was that they didn't have very many of them. Bummer! They should have known that would be a huge seller and stocked accordingly. I have several Michael's stores within 20 miles of our house, so I'll keep checking back at all of them in hopes of getting the 24 chargers I'd like to have in my inventory. All I have is 6...or 8...I forget. At any rate, it's not enough!!! :-)

    Pretty, pretty, pretty! Happy Spring!

  32. Your spring table is lovely, Kathe. Lucky you that Mr. B is an enabler. I didn't get support recently when I wanted to order a new set of flatware. "Do we really need another set of flatware?" is the response I received. ;-)
Your flatware is very pretty, as are all the details of your spring table.

  43. I love this! So pretty! Actually though, when I saw "tablescape" I thought this would be something different. You know those tables with a clear top that have room underneath to put stuff? Kind of like a scrapbook? I've seen monopoly boards inside tables, doll collections etc. You should make those if you don't already. I'd love to see what worlds you create inside your tables!
