Aruba - Time to Get Away!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Aruba Tourism Authority for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
There is no doubt that Mr. B and I NEED a vacation. We have not been on a real vacation in way too many years!

My own “Bucket List” includes a vacation to an exotic, tropical island.
I love islands that are surrounded by turquoise colored water.
I've seen pictures in magazines and online and I picture myself on the white sandy beach enjoying a tropical adult beverage.

One such place that comes in mind is Aruba.
I have never been there before but I've great things about it.
Aruba seems to have it all.
The island has spectacular beaches and plenty of water activities such as swimming, windsurfing, jet skiing, fishing, diving and, my favorite, snorkeling.
Of course, simply lounging on the beach
under a palm tree sounds pretty darn good too.
Did you know that Aruba also has miles of undeveloped beaches?
While these don’t offer visitors many of the water activities that the other beaches do, these beaches do afford island visitors with privacy and tranquility.

In my research I also found out that Aruba’s prices are
10% – 35% lower than those in the United States.
For those who love to shop, like me, Aruba is a shoppers paradise.
The streets are lined with plenty of shops as well as upscale malls.
You can find a variety of unique boutiques and emporiums.
Whether you are looking for fine jewelry or handcrafted souvenirs,
you are sure to what what you are looking for in one of Aruba’s many stores.

Just to let you know, downtown stores are open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 6 pm. Some stores might open on Sunday if there is a cruise ship in port. You should also know that personal checks are not accepted but major credit cards, travelers’ checks, and US currency are welcome.

Aruba also has plenty of pubs, restaurants, movie theaters and night clubs.
Many of the islands attractions and amenities are within walking distance.
If you need to get around you can also find taxis or hop on a bus.
Car rentals are available too for those who want to see the sights
beyond the resort area.
Keep in mind though, in Aruba you drive on the right side of the road
and foreign and international driving licenses are accepted.
Free parking is available throughout the island and, heads up,
there are no right turns on red light allowed!

  1. Oh yes, I love Aruba! It's so unlike any other caribbean island - you feel safe and can walk around freely. For the last few times there we stayed at the Riu Palace, an all inclusive resort. But we have also stayed at the Marriott downtown that had its' own private beach with flamingos strolling about and the Hyatt with its' exotic landscape and birds. Aruba really is one happy place!

  5. Looks beautiful, I definitely am going to have to re-book a trip there (long story short I was supposed to go in 2011 but had a bit of a passport fiasco at the airport). Thanks for the post!
