St. Patrick's Day Table

http:/

Wow!  Where did February go??  The days are going way to fast as I get older. You too?
Soon, Spring will be here which is really okay with me!
Old Man Winter can go hibernate any day now!

Before Spring arrives though, there is still St. Patrick's Day to celebrate!
Corned beef, cabbage, green beer and the wearin' o' the green.

Of course I cannot let an occasion pass without some decorating o' my table.
http:/
A green tablecloth for sure.
http:/
My favorite oversized Ikea plates as chargers topped with
a fun green and white polka dot salad plate from Hobby Lobby.
White lace napkins from Boscovs online clearance
done up in a gold beaded napkin ring.
I also used my vintage gold plated flatware.
http:/
For the centerpiece I found some unloved Valentine's Day roses
in the clearance section at the grocery store.
$4.99 for this big bouquet!
I can't imagine what they were going for before February 14th!
And I'm here to tell you, they are still going strong today!
http:/
I really lucked out as they are pink but tinged with such a soft and pretty green.
http:/
I placed a shamrock candle ring under the vase.
http:/
A couple of silver and green votives add just a little brightness to the table.
http:/
Green Jello in some of Mr. B's stout glasses mimic green beer.
My Irish crystal stems are the finishing touch to the table.
http:/
Mr. B doesn't like corned beef and cabbage so, again this year,
I'll buy a corned beef while it's on sale and we'll have the,
not quite traditional, and not really Irish, Rueben sandwiches LOL!
At least the dill pickle on the side will be green!
Sláinte my friends!

  9. The roses are gorgeous, such a soft shade and the touch of green! Perfect for your St Pat's table! I'm ready for corned beef and cabbage myself. Mom said she would cook (I clean up afterwards...works for us). I may have to 'find' a few plates at the thrift shop and do a table while I'm here! I know, any excuse to thrift shop!! hugs, Linda

  23. GREAT buy on the roses, Kathe! Wow...they're still holding on tight after nearly 3 weeks?!?!?!! Those were some REALLY good quality roses!!! I love the shades of both pink and green in them. They are perfect for your sweet Irish table!

At least you get to buy corned beef. Ramon doesn't eat it at all (salt content doesn't mesh with his hypertension), so I never get to eat it unless company's coming or I'm at someone's house who has cooked it. LOVE Reuben sandwiches!!!!!!!
